Our Classic Biothane Dog Collar features a timeless buckle design. We use solid brass and chrome-plated solid brass hardware, which won't rust over time.
All of our collars are finished with a Strange Tails moon charm to match your hardware selection. Proudly handmade in our Vancouver, Canada studio.
Biothane is a coated webbing material that is strong, flexible and lightweight.
It's also waterproof, stink-proof, and stain-proof, making it extremely easy to care for and clean. This makes it our material of choice for pups that love to swim or get dirty!
We use the "Super Heavy" Biothane for all of our leashes, handsfree adapters, classic collars and martingale collars which has a substantial and luxe feel to it. Our adjustable quick release collars use the "Standard" Biothane.
One of the best things about Biothane is how easy it is to care for and clean. Simply soak your gear in warm soapy water as needed. You can use an old toothbrush to scrub away any stubborn dirt. Rinse away any remaining dirt and soap residue with clean water.
Solid brass hardware naturally oxidizes as it ages. It can leave tarnish marks against the biothane, especially on the lighter colours.
To remove tarnish marks, we recommend using a magic eraser or a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Please ensure to thoroughly rinse your product with soap and water before using your gear again.
While Biothane is easy to clean, it does still get dirty. Please keep in mind that lighter colours will show dirt and tarnish marks more easily, and will require more frequent cleaning to keep looking fresh!

Our 5 month puppy loves her Strange Tails collar and so do we! The tangerine is a perfect pop of color. We do wish there was more room to clasp our leash onto the D-ring; construction is sturdy and we’re looking forward to trying a quick release harness in the future!

Beyond thrilled with every purchase I've made from Strange Tails! I have the leash and hands free adapter and now that my puppy is done growing, I got the leash. Did the 1" and it looks great on my guy! Love the customization, brass hardware, and quality. Also love the extra rings along the hands free adapter because I can add a key ring and potty bag holder. A like for like replacement - last collar lasted 3 years of daily swims and big 40 kg pulling. Only replacing due to a slight crack that formed on the surface. Collar was still fully usable and strong! Best collars we’ve ever had.
We got the lilac collar in size 13 and it’s perfect! The shop was helpful and prompt with answering any questions. Her tags are always facing the right direction and the moon charm is adorable! It’s super high quality and really easy to clean. Love this collar for our girl!
We love our new Strange Tails collars and leashes! The colour combinations—Terracotta with Midnight Blue, and Pinot with Lilac—make our leashes feel truly unique. We chose the brass hardware for its elevated look, and we really appreciate the thoughtful details, like the charm and the ring for our name tag. We’ve already used them on rainy walks, and it’s so nice not to end up with a soaking wet leash—they wipe clean and still look brand new. Highly recommend these leashes from a local small business!

Love the seafoam colour for my pup. I went with the 5/8 width in size 12 and it fits great. The biothane is very easy to clean, amazing! Great product overall and it comes in so many different colours, so hard to just pick one.
Beautiful, high quality collar. I love the brass hardware and the cute little moon charm. The red is a nice bright blue tone red. Not orange at all. Glad to have our first (of many) Strange Tails pieces.

Only issue is the long wait to come from Canada to Europe. When we pay €20 for postage and then taxes on top we’d prefer it arrived in less than 2-3 weeks.

I LOVE all my strange tail leashes and collars I own but I was SO excited when the cherry color dropped as I knew it would look stunning on my black lab. We were not disappointed, it is amazing quality as always and the cherry color with the gold hardware might be my new favorite!!!!
Its hard to get any pictures of my puppy with the collar on, but we love it so much! Compared to other collars which end up stinky and gunky, this one doesnt smell at all. The collar itself is extremely high quality and I can tell its going to last a lot time. I can’t wait to buy more stuff as she grows!

I got the classic biothane collar in clay and I’m super happy with the quality and detailing of the collar, it was also shipped very quickly which I’m very grateful for! The color is a but lighter and more greyish than the pictures but still very cute. The material is perfect, can’t wait to see how it lasts through time :)
I have now been working with the hands free adapter and leash set for a month and I could not imagine dog training any other way. I have a 9 mo service dog in training and she has made a bit of damage from chewing on the lead at the beginning and it has held up great since. I love how simple it is to clean, and that it is very waterproof. Would definitely purchase again!

I purchased this collar for my dog who is constantly in the water and we were having problems with other collars smelling over time. So far this one has been great! Super happy with the look as well. I did notice that it stretches out a bit, so be aware when sizing for your pup.
Being only 2 he loves jumping in every puddle we see on walks, which means he gets dirty all the time. Dirt, mud, you name it. This collar and leach combo is super easy to clean and touch for my big boy.
