Our drag line long leashes are super sleek and simple, for when you don't need the extra bells and whistles. They're perfect for training, hiking, or anytime you want ot give your dog the feeling of off leash freedom while still maintaining control. Made from 1/2" super heavy weight Biothane, they feature a trigger snap at one end. The other end is finished with a simple english point end cut, with nothing to catch on as it drags along the ground.

Biothane is a coated webbing material that is strong, flexible and lightweight.
It's also waterproof, stink-proof, and stain-proof, making it extremely easy to care for and clean. This makes it our material of choice for pups that love to swim or get dirty!
We use the "Super Heavy" Biothane for all of our leashes, handsfree adapters, classic collars and martingale collars which has a substantial and luxe feel to it. Our adjustable quick release collars use the "Standard" Biothane.
One of the best things about Biothane is how easy it is to care for and clean. Simply soak your gear in warm soapy water as needed. You can use an old toothbrush to scrub away any stubborn dirt. Rinse away any remaining dirt and soap residue with clean water.
Solid brass hardware naturally oxidizes as it ages. It can leave tarnish marks against the biothane, especially on the lighter colours.
To remove tarnish marks, we recommend using a magic eraser or a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Please ensure to thoroughly rinse your product with soap and water before using your gear again.
While Biothane is easy to clean, it does still get dirty. Please keep in mind that lighter colours will show dirt and tarnish marks more easily, and will require more frequent cleaning to keep looking fresh!
This is the perfect length of longline for us. It gives plenty of freedom but is also very easy to loop up and pay out. We also have a 15 foot line, which we like, but is harder to handle. We use the 10 foot almost daily. Love the easy trigger style snap on these leashes. Thinking about getting one for a friend with mobility issues because this style of clip is so much easier to open and close. Highly recommend Strange Tail's products. It's a splurge for sure, but the price reflects the quality and thoughtfulness of the design.
30ft drag line. Exactly what I needed. I always make my pup drag a line on our “off leash” adventures, and my cheap fabric ones were getting stinky and catching on tree trunks and sticks. I love this long line! Probably going to get a shorter version too. Most of long lines I owned had tangled in between my dogs legs and was really difficult to manage...not this one! Not too heavy! Just perfect!!
The drag line worked super well for hiking in Algonquin park! My pup felt like she was off leash but I had great peace of mind knowing she was fully under control with the line
I have really enjoyed the drag lead. I feel like it is an essential tool when you get a new dog because it allows you to be able to teach the dog what you want before they understand what markers and commands are. It can also help with play with your dog cause a lot of times you will have a dog that will once they get a ball or they get the tug and they won’t understand to give it back to you so the drag line helps guide the dog on how play works. Also good in medical situations cause it allows you to get your dog if they don’t want to let you get them because they are not feeling good, I always put collar on and drag line on as soon as I take him out of crate so he always has it on when out of his crate. Like specifically about this leash is easy to connect to collar and take it off, also generally doesn’t catch unto things but still have to keep an eye on him to make sure it doesn’t catch unto certain things but that is just a trade off of it being a long line and wouldn’t trade the benefits of the line being long to not catch unto things, you can get a tab leash if you want something that doesn’t catch unto things but there are their own advantages and disadvantages to tab leashes, I think tab leashes are good for keeping dogs from jumping and also good if they are already pretty well trained and it’s more of an insurance leash. So would say a drag line like this is good for newer dogs or dogs you need more control of around the property ( cause would use a regular leash/long line for out in public), then a tab leash for a trained dog that you just need it for occasional situations of dog getting too excited and wanting to jump up, now maybe tab leashes are better for big dogs and have more benefits for bigger dogs, I have a pembroke welsh corgi / miniature Australian shepherd so he is a smaller dog so a drag line is more beneficial for me. Durable and well made. Wasn't expecting the weight of the biothane though. If you are getting a longer weight or have a smaller dog, that is something to consider
Very heavy item and not worth the price point. The fact that you cant return the items makes me very dissapointed in the brand overall - wont be reccomending. Item is expensive, impractical - hard to be proud of the “made in Canada” aspect
It’s very easy to use- doesn’t get tangled- is light but sturdy and very helpful for training my rescue dog who needs a lot of structure. I’ve used it for his swimming in lakes and for walks - and it’s easy to see as well. The carabiner is easy to attach and very solid. Altogether a great purchase!
Great product! We use this while hiking with our pup as his recall isn’t quite there yet. Won’t get snagged as he drags it through the bush and is long enough to easily grab/step on if we need to reel him in.
it is so amazing. i love that the handle is detachable so its safe to leave dragging. the best tool and so easy to keep your dog safe in an on leash area or when training
Great color, great weight and tangles less than my previous dragline that was thinner. I love the team at Strange Tails, their customer service is fabulous. I also have a 6 ft leash and a collar from them and I love all my pieces.
We got the dragline for going in the lake and it works amazing! The orange is perfectly bright enough to be seen in the water and gives my dog plenty of room to swim!
